About Magpie Soup
The Magpie is a fiftysomething eclectic pagan in an ongoing process of rediscovering and exploring Spirit through creativity, as a path towards growth and healing. I’m sharing my journey here, in the hope that it might help inspire other people to make their own explorations. I’ll also be undertaking some exercises in visual arts, writing, altar-making, ritual and other sacred arts, which you may want to have a go at for yourself. If you do, please feel free to let me know about any insights or discoveries you make.
In my day job, I’m a medical clerk. The rest of the time, I’m a mixed media artist, songwriter, journaler, poet, and general collector of Shiny Things and recycler of random roadkill (figuratively speaking). I browse in thrift stores, listen to a variety of music (some loud, some not so loud, some both), have meaningful conversations with passing cats, and believe there is no such thing as too many books.
Disclaimer: I’m not a psychiatrist, therapist or counsellor of any kind, nor do I play one on TV. If you find any of these exercises bring up feelings that make you distressed or uncomfortable, please see a trained professional.

(PS: No magpies were harmed in the making of this blog, although hopefully you’ll find it a tasty and interesting mixture. The title is also a reference to a song by The Breeders. I’ll leave it up to you to discover which one.)
